What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information submitted through Canton Travel Guide’s trip brief form and technical information processed when the website or form is used.
Canton Travel Guide is responsible for deciding how this form information is used. Privacy requests can be made electronically through the contact route at the end of this page.
Information we collect
- Your name and email address.
- Trip details such as month, duration, party, interests and starting point.
- Information you choose to add, including allergies, mobility needs or other travel context.
- Basic anti-spam and security information, such as submission time and network address.
Legal basis and sensitive details
The trip brief is processed with your consent so that we can reply. Steps needed to discuss or provide a service may also be processed to take action at your request before a contract or to perform an agreed service. Basic security and anti-spam records are processed for the legitimate interest of protecting the website and its users.
Allergy and mobility notes may reveal health information. Add only what is necessary for the request. By choosing to include it, you ask us to use it solely to understand and answer the trip-planning need.
The form is intended for adults. An adult planning family travel should provide only the minimum information needed about a child and should not enter a child’s direct contact details.
Why we use it
We use submitted information to assess whether a planning request is within scope, reply to the request, clarify the service and price before any paid work, protect the form from abuse and keep a record of the conversation.
We do not use a trip brief to enrol you in unrelated marketing. A new marketing use would require a separate, clear choice.
Email delivery and service providers
When the form is active, its contents are delivered through Resend, an email delivery provider, to the address configured by the site operator. Hosting, security and email providers process only the information needed to provide their service.
Personal information may be processed in countries or regions different from your own. We use providers with contractual privacy terms and limit the data sent to what the form needs.
Retention
Trip requests are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, provide an agreed service, handle a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Requests that do not lead to a service should normally be deleted or anonymised within 12 months.
Your choices and requests
- Ask what personal information is held about you.
- Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected.
- Ask for deletion, subject to records that must reasonably be retained.
- Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
- Ask for processing to be restricted or object where applicable.
- Ask for a portable copy where applicable.
- Complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location if you believe a request was not handled lawfully.
Security and changes
Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, but no website or email system can promise absolute security. If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated.
