How a visit usually unfolds
A practical visit order and pace—not a full-day itinerary.

From Kaiping South railway station, use its signed bus or licensed-taxi area; the station is not beside the villages. For a two-site visit, book a licensed car with the exact gates, waiting time and return destination agreed. We have not verified a current through-shuttle timetable linking the villages.

Enter at the Majianglong visitor gate in Baihe. Follow signs through the bamboo towards Tianlu Lou, then return along the village paths. Baizu Mountain lies behind this group of five villages and the Tanjiang in front; the river and bamboo are part of the setting, not a promise of a continuous riverside trail.

Check which buildings are included and open at the ticket desk before entering. Published heritage status does not guarantee every tower interior is accessible. Keep the same driver or agree a return pickup; do not rely on finding an empty car in the village late in the day.
Practical notes
- Living village paths require quiet behaviour and respect for private doorways.
- Confirm the current bus and return journey before setting out. An old notice about a trial shuttle does not confirm that it still runs.

- Jinjiangli is another rural cluster but adds enough road cost to require deliberate planning.
