Kaiping’s official tourism directory places Zili within the core diaolou cultural tourism area together with Majianglong and Li Garden.

How a visit usually unfolds
A practical visit order and pace—not a full-day itinerary.

From Kaiping South railway station, use its signed bus or licensed-taxi area; the station is not beside the villages. For a two-site visit, book a licensed car with the exact gates, waiting time and return destination agreed. We have not verified a current through-shuttle timetable linking the villages.

Start at the Zili Village visitor entrance in Tangkou. Follow the signed village paths towards Mingshi Lou, then spend time by the pond and lanes of the Anheli, Heanli and Yonganli village group. Enter Mingshi Lou only if staff confirm it is open; the 2026 municipal budget includes conservation work at Mingshi Lou and Yinong Lu.

Check which buildings are included and open at the ticket desk before entering. Published heritage status does not guarantee every tower interior is accessible. Keep the same driver or agree a return pickup; do not rely on finding an empty car in the village late in the day.

- Ticket combinations and accessible interiors change; do not assume every tower is open.
- Field paths are exposed in sun and can be muddy after rain.
