Nanhua Temple

Allow 1.5–2.5 hours for Nanhua’s courtyards and open halls. This is an active Buddhist temple in Qujiang; Maba Man Site is a separate road journey away.

Start with location, transport, tickets and hours—then decide if it fits your plan.

About this place

Shaoguan’s official cultural route places Nanhua Temple at the centre of a Qujiang heritage day before Maba Man Site.

Worshippers still use the temple. Keep quiet around ceremonies and follow each hall’s photography and access signs.

Change the pace

Let a temple visit remain quiet

Walk slowly through the gates, courts and open halls. Give worshippers room and pause away from the main path if you want to look around or take photographs.

05 · Visit tips

How a visit usually unfolds

A practical visit order and pace—not a full-day itinerary.

  1. 01

From high-speed Shaoguan Station, the city’s September 2026 guidance directs passengers about 50 metres left after exiting to bus 23. From Shaoguan East, use the Nanhua Temple dedicated service at the south square. Verify the return stop and last departure when boarding; these are different stations and services.

  2. 02

Begin at the main visitor entrance and follow the central temple axis through the open halls. Leave time to sit quietly; religious activities can restrict individual halls, and a photographed relic is not a promise that it is on view.

  3. 03

Ask the entrance counter about passport admission before paying for a distant transfer. We have not confirmed a passport-specific online booking process. Return by the same bus corridor or a prearranged licensed car; combine Maba only if you have time for a separate road transfer.

Practical notes

  • Some halls may restrict photography or visitor access.
  • Dress and voice level should suit an active religious complex.

Nearby

  • Maba Man Site is the most coherent second Qujiang stop.
  • A Danxia overnight can follow, but only after allowing a real road-transfer block.
