City gate · river edge
Guangji Gate stands between Dongmen Street and the Han River, facing Guangji Bridge. It is an easy short stop for the city wall and bridge view while walking from Paifang Street to the river.
Start with location, transport, tickets and hours—then decide if it fits your plan.

03 · About this place
Official heritage planning and old-city routes treat the gate and riverside as core parts of Chaozhou’s historic landscape.
Standing outside the gate gives a cleaner reading of Guangji Bridge than approaching from dense commercial lanes alone.

05 · Visit tips
A practical visit order and pace—not a full-day itinerary.
01From Taiping Road / Paifang Street, walk east along Dongmen Street to Guangji Gate. Stay on the signed pedestrian route through the gate area and keep clear of traffic and queues near the bridge entrance.
02We suggest 15–30 minutes for the exterior and river view. This does not include an upper-storey or city-wall visit: we have not confirmed current access to those areas, so do not buy a ticket assuming it includes them.
03Continue to the west-bank promenade or the Guangji Bridge visitor entrance if open, then return through Dongmen Street for a meal. Gate access and bridge admission are separate arrangements.
