Give the day to Xiqiao Mountain
Travel, entry checks and uphill paths take time at Xiqiao, and weather can slow the visit. Adding Zumiao and Nanfeng to the same day would leave little time to enjoy them.

Nanhai · Mountain scenic area
Xiqiao Mountain is a scenic mountain area in Nanhai District. It works as its own travel day: trails, viewpoints and longer door-to-door transport, very different in scale from Chancheng temple streets.
Start with location, transport, tickets and hours—then decide if it fits your plan.

02 · At a glance
Volcanic landscape, trails and viewpoints
A different scale from Chancheng temple streets
Optional cultural add-ons nearby (e.g. Guanyin area) if energy remains
03 · About this place
Choose Xiqiao when you want forest trails and mountain views rather than another visit to Chancheng’s temples and lanes. The slopes and journey there need more time than an urban garden.
Entry rules, free periods, shuttle tickets and trail status change. Treat any “free entry” headline as something to verify the morning you go.
A realistic plan keeps Xiqiao alone or with only the Guanyin segment—not with a full Shunde banquet the same night.

On the ground
Confirm entry/shuttle/reservation rules the same morning—they change. Optional Guanyin only with 1–2 hours and energy left.

One section of the mountain day
Treat Nanhai Guanyin as an optional section of the Xiqiao Mountain day. The large hillside statue and its steps make sense when they sit on the route you already chose and still leave enough time to descend.
Confirm at the entrance whether your gate, shuttle and ticket arrangement serve this section. Different access choices do not always produce the same loop, so decide before committing to the main trail.
Keep about one to two hours only when the main mountain segment has gone to plan. Heat, tired legs or a late start are enough reason to finish the shorter route and begin the return.
05 · Visit tips
A practical visit order and pace—not a full-day itinerary.
01Choose a gate before booking the car: the north gate permits walking and sightseeing-bus entry; the south main gate permits bus entry only. The separate southeast walking entrance and the western Baiyun Cave walking entrance are different destinations. Tell the driver the exact gate, not just 西樵山.
02Main mountain admission is free, but obtain an entry QR through the 西樵山 or 南海西樵 WeChat account’s 进园预约. Religious venues, sightseeing buses and the cable car charge separately. Passport booking has not been confirmed; ask visitor services on 400-111-9288 or 0757-86886646 before travelling.
03For a shorter visit, the western cable-car entrance leads towards Tianhu Park: use the cable car when running, walk the lake area on open paths, and return by the same cable-car route. This suggested out-and-back avoids assuming you can complete every mountain district in one day. Confirm the return service before ascending.
04Published park hours are 07:30–17:30, with bus and cable-car service 08:00–17:30. The operator lists adult bus admission at RMB 40 and cable car at RMB 35 one-way or RMB 55 return; confirm the current tariff and the last service at your chosen gate. Arrange the road pickup before boarding.
