Tangjiawan Old Town Zhuhai: Shanfang Road & Gongle Garden
Tangjiawan suits travellers who want an old-town half-day in northern Zhuhai. Begin around Shanfang Road, then decide whether the current access and your energy allow Gongle Garden. Tangjiawan railway station is not an arrival at the old lanes themselves, so include the final local journey rather than expecting to step off the train into the village.

Why visit Tangjiawan Old Town
Shanfang Road is the easiest place to begin, with restored streetfronts and lanes leading into the old settlement. Tang Shaoyi’s former residence and the nearby Gongle Garden give this northern town a specific connection to early Republican history; choose them if history interests you more than a café afternoon.
Gongle Garden began as Tang Shaoyi’s private garden in 1910. Rockwork, shaded paths and the historic Guanxing Pavilion make it a different visit from the shopping street. Building interiors and current garden access still need their own check.
Check Gongle Garden separately
Use 共乐园 as a separate map destination. Historic buildings, gardens and event spaces can have different access arrangements from public streets. If the garden is your main reason for coming, confirm that access before making the journey; if it is unavailable, the old streets still provide a shorter visit.
Include the station-to-village journey
Compare your hotel-to-old-town journey with a direct road trip before choosing rail. A train can be useful for an intercity arrival, but it does not remove the final bus or taxi connection. Keep your departure station distinct from the sightseeing POI when saving map locations.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I walk straight from Tangjiawan station to the old town?
Do not plan it that way. The old town is a separate destination; check a local bus or taxi connection for your arrival.
Should I choose Tangjiawan or Beishan?
Choose Tangjiawan for a northern old-town outing with Shanfang Road and potentially Gongle Garden. Choose Beishan for a shorter Nanping village-and-café afternoon.
Are the cultural events held every day?
No. Use the current programme for the date; ordinary street access does not guarantee a festival, market or performance.
