Why visit Yuexiu Park
Yuexiu Hill sits at the northern end of Guangzhou's traditional city axis. Surviving Ming walls, Zhenhai Tower and later memorial structures let several periods of urban history occupy the same park.
The park also remains ordinary civic space. Morning exercise, shaded paths and lakes matter as much to its present character as the monuments do, which keeps the visit from feeling like an outdoor museum.
