Why visit Yuexiu Park
Yuexiu Hill sits at the northern end of Guangzhou's traditional city axis. Surviving Ming walls, Zhenhai Tower and later memorial structures let several periods of urban history occupy the same park.
The park also remains ordinary civic space. Morning exercise, shaded paths and lakes matter as much to its present character as the monuments do, which keeps the visit from feeling like an outdoor museum.

A practical first route through Yuexiu Park
For a first visit, start at the west gate near Jiefang North Road and Panfu Road. Follow the signs uphill to the Five Goats sculpture on Mukegang, then towards the Ming city wall and Zhenhai Tower. Allow about two hours for the outdoor landmarks and breaks; you do not need to circle every lake.
If Zhenhai Tower is open and you still have museum energy, add it before descending. Otherwise, keep the visit outdoors and use the saved time for the Nanyue King Museum or memorial hall outside the park.
