Why visit Nankun Mountain
The mountain villages and bamboo-covered slopes lie well beyond central Huizhou. Stay nearby if you want time to walk rather than spending most of the day on the road.
An overnight stay gives you an afternoon and the next morning in the mountains. Choose walks near your accommodation so that each outing does not require another long drive.

How to plan the visit

Book accommodation only after locating it relative to 南昆山石河奇观 or the named walk you want. Some properties advertised as “Nankun Mountain” are outside the mountain villages; ask for the full Chinese address and the actual drive to your chosen entrance.

For one short outing, use the signed entrance at Shihe Qiguan, follow the open streamside visitor path and return the same way. Ask locally about footing and closures before adding Chuanlong Waterfall; these are separate visits, not a verified continuous walking circuit.

Our suggestion is 1–2 hours for one short nature stop, with a car retained for the mountain-road return. The county’s older four-site ticket notice is from 2021, so confirm current individual admission rather than assuming those prices still apply. Leave the mountain in daylight if you are unfamiliar with the road.
