Coast, railway or Hengqin

Where to stay in Zhuhai

Central Xiangzhou suits the coast and islands, Gongbei suits a rail or Macau connection, and Hengqin only suits a deliberately southern trip.

Check whether your next journey starts at Zhuhai railway station, Xiangzhou Port or Hengqin; these are different parts of the city.

A Gongbei room is useful after a late train, while Jida and old Xiangzhou put you closer to the main city-coast visits. Hengqin makes more sense when most of your activities are there.

Choose the base from the first departure and final return you actually have, then compare hotels inside that zone.

Match the area to your visit

Which area suits your stay?

01

Central Xiangzhou

Where to look
Compare Jida, old Xiangzhou and northern Lovers’ Road.
Best for
City museums, the Grand Theatre, Xianglu Bay and access to Xiangzhou Port.
Tradeoff
These are separate coastal neighbourhoods. Gongbei and Hengqin still require a transfer.
Before booking
Map the hotel to the exact coast entrance or port you intend to use.
02

Gongbei

Where to look
Around Zhuhai railway station, away from the busiest road frontage
Best for
Late train arrivals, early rail departures or a planned Macau border crossing.
Tradeoff
Xianglu Bay and the Grand Theatre are separate trips; a station-area hotel does not put you beside them.
Before booking
Check the station-to-hotel walk and room noise. Confirm border documents separately if travelling to Macau.
03

Hengqin

Where to look
Near the specific Hengqin venue, wetland or border port you need
Best for
Travellers spending most of their time in Hengqin itself.
Tradeoff
Daily journeys to central Xiangzhou use time that a cheaper room may not make worthwhile.
Before booking
Confirm the address and transport to that venue; a Hengqin booking does not replace a separate Macau entry check.

Recheck before travel

  • Confirm that the property can register international guests before paying.
  • Check the journey from your accommodation to the first attraction, and back from dinner.
  • After an island stay, avoid a same-day flight or fixed train connection: ferry disruption could leave you unable to reach the mainland in time.
