OCT-LOFT works only when something is actually open
OCT-LOFT is a former industrial district reused for studios, exhibitions and independent businesses. The brick lanes are pleasant, but they do not guarantee a full cultural programme. Check one named venue or event before crossing Shenzhen, then let the rest of the park remain flexible.

Why visit OCT-LOFT
The municipal cultural-industry register identifies OCT-LOFT as a nationally and municipally recognised cultural industry park. On the ground, its value is more specific: old industrial buildings have been adapted for changing creative uses instead of cleared for a single new complex.
That changing programme is also the main risk. A photograph of brick walls can make the district look like a permanent open-air exhibition, but much of the cultural value sits behind venue doors and event calendars.

Before crossing the city
One confirmed door changes the whole visit
Look for a current exhibition, market, talk or open studio with a named building and time. That gives the visit a centre. Without one, keep OCT-LOFT as a short architectural walk attached to something else nearby.
The north and south areas do not need to be completed as a checklist. Follow the open venues, then notice how loading bays, brick façades and planted courtyards have been absorbed into ordinary commercial and creative use.

Yes for adaptive industrial architecture and a confirmed exhibition or event. With no programme and no design interest, it is better treated as an optional short stop.

The public lanes do not require a general ticket. Individual exhibitions, performances and workshops set their own ticket or registration rules.
Can I walk from Nantou Ancient Town to OCT-LOFT?
Do not plan them as one continuous walk. Use the Metro or another current local connection, and combine them only when the day still leaves time for a proper break.
